*NOTE: HELIOS Far UV series are component-level products (not plug-and-play products). Although they come with a power supply, they still need to be safely mounted in a housing or fixture, and a supporting timing circuit is highly recommended. Check out our Far UV Devices collection for full fixtures (plug-and-play products) with all components built-in.

UV Can’s HELIOS II is the company’s 2nd generation Far UVC excimer lamp series, offering a broad range of product development opportunities in medicine, industry, and research. These lamps, made of ultra-high-purity quartz glass, emit 222nm UV-C light. You can choose to buy bandpass filters separately or opt for modules that come with filters included. Bandpass filters help to reduce potentially harmful wavelengths above and below 222nm.

Now you can disinfect using Far UV even in occupied indoor spaces. Conventional UV-C lights (254nm mercury lamps or 260-280nm LEDs) are limited in that they can only be used safely in unoccupied spaces or completely contained with no leakage. Far UV cannot penetrate the active layer of human skin and is adsorbed by the top layer of dead skin cells. The eyes’ tear layer works to block Far UV, protecting them. This means that HELIOS II Far UV bulbs can target and disinfect air and surfaces even while people are present.
